a few years. Although several very nice new features with great additional detectors have come on the market, since I bought the unit a few years ago, is a reliable workhorse that gets the job done.

Are you going to do some traveling this winter, escaping the snow for a few weeks and visit friends and fellow special prospectors in the desert. Will my Goldbug with me. I’m not an expert, but I’ve had a lot of fun and found a few treasures. Metal detecting is addictive and I look forward to try my luck again. The price of gold soaring and I would certainly find a nice nugget for my efforts.

Metal detecting is great exercise, another reason to get outdoors and often remunerated stalking. If you are a new user of treasure hunting or are thinking of becoming a detectorist, I hope that you will find these tips and directions helpful.

Metal detectors can penetrate the Earth and locate an object down, about a foot below the surface. How far they can penetrate into every machine is determined by the type of metal or of metal that you are trying to locate, the size and density of the target, the composition of the soil and the quality of the detector. Soil containing a high concentration of minerals can cause interference and would reduce the penetration depth.

If you plan to buy a metal detector, do the research. There are many brands and models on the market. Like most forms of technology, you get what you pay for. If you invest in inferior machine may be able to find a lot of junk and surface to be discouraged. A quality machine is a good investment that will pay for itself rather quickly. Look for a clearly readable, clear sound quality, comfortable weight and accessories available. Make sure the unit you choose has a coil underwater water-proof. Get this with headphones, rechargeable batteries and a carrying bag?

There are three different types of metal detectors, motion detectors, pulse detectors and signaling polysychnotitas detectors. Motion detectors work best for the land and freshwater use, pulse units work better in seawater. Polysychnotitas detectors are considerably more expensive but offers the best of both worlds and are quieter and more resistant to interference. How and where you intend to use your detector is important. Intend to explore in the desert, on the beach or in the Creek? Many on line units will work in most circumstances, some less expensive probes will have serious limitations. Many marketers have trial where you can try out various units, questions and to find the best unit for your needs. Some distributors have rental units you can try in the field before making a purchasing decision.

Learn from the experience of others. Many people are very bolikotero to learn the proper technique than those already familiar with the sport. Metal detecting is a skill and other treasure hunters is happy and proud to share their knowledge. Treasure hunters are friendly folks? Listen closely, and questions of someone who has experience. Check around in your local area for a metal detecting or Treasure Hunting Club or a group. You will learn much more and in less time than the other members of you going at it alone. Depending on the location or terrain that you wish to hunt, it is often easier and safer to hunt with a group rather than by yourself. If you are looking for a friend of the subsoil Exploration, you will meet many great people who share your interest.
Investigation and pre-planning is vital. A great lost ring, an old coin, a Gold Nugget is the notes that make the hobby this intriguing and exciting. If you fail to plan where you want to hunt, you will find a lot of junk and little treasure. Most likely, like mine, your metal detector will sit in the hangar gathers dust.

Invest some time in research about the area where you want to try your luck. Study of the history of the area, visit the courthouse on old maps and records and reading newspapers archives. You don’t even go to the library, the internet allows you to research positions anywhere in the world. If you can locate the old fair grounds, carnivals and concerts posts or maybe a field where the auctions, often you will find many coins rejected. Another way for finding local historical information is in the local antique shop shops for old images or greeting cards. Most old cards have a picture of an important locale, such as parks, casinos, festivals, important buildings and beaches that inspires to hunt in otherwise overlooked places. You’ll find as you explore these sites while old buildings that may have changed the earth remains, concealing the treasures below. More lost treasures have been found, after careful research than by swinging across a metal detector.

Many of the new scanners on the market have excellent technology that allows you to discriminate and bypass items such as foil, bronze and rusty nails. Just remember, the more your honors, the depth of which is going to have one to easily lose a little nugget or a coin. It is preferable to look for any sign until you understand depth and recognizes all your messages and have the detector emits experience to decide wisely when not to look for a specific goal.

An old timer shared a great tip with me. Take an old gold ring or piece of jewelry, and stick it in a colorful poker chip. (To do with caulking so it can be peeled easily later.) Have a friend go with subsurface exploration and bury them chip in many different soil types, i.e. sand, gravel, shale, clay. Also let them bury the chip at different depths. As you can practice locating the chip over and over again, you will develop a relationship with your metal detector and then you will easily recognize a signal for gold at various depths and conditions.

Weather will have a significant impact on your treasure hunt. Reason that is thoroughly soaked after a rain or springtime melting is easier to dig than sun baked hard pack. Moist soil is also more conductivity and you’ll be able to find items that are deeper than if the ground was dry. The Golden Sands of the beach one Ocean bothered and rolled from severe storms and often reveals the objectives that were previously too deep to find. Desert winds will cause a similar redistribution of golden sand, often offering up a gold nugget that was buried deep before the storm.

Don’t start in an area that is highly converted to inorganic or so overloaded with signs guiding you bonkers. Many units are somewhat misleading in ground balance, so be sure to carefully read the manufacturer’s instructions. When you learn to master your first metal detector, try a field blank or your own back yard. Who knows what you might find?

Property rights of others and only dig where you are right. Always fill in any holes you can dig and remove any trash that you can find. Bring a garbage bag and be a good citizen. Lift debris or meet you unearth.
Many people have a justifiable concern about the potentially damaging effects of indiscriminate and unmanageable treasure hunt. Often artifacts removed without bothering to document the discovery correctly and therefore eliminating the historical value of the Finding.
If you’re lucky enough to unearth something of historical significance, the time and location of the document. This can be easily accomplished if you mark the spot by reading the GPS (Global Positioning System) or draw the tracking point accurately on a map. You will also find this useful if you want to create the site and return.
If you can find an old coin or piece of jewelry, don’t try to Polish or clean without professional advice. Solvents or rubs even one element can damage the bit and reduces its value.
Apply basic security measures and common sense. Wear protective leather gloves and thick leather shoes. When you scan usually step on broken glass or opening up rusted metals. Be aware that if your shoes have metal zippers or cleats, perhaps incorrectly handling a signal from your own feet and the ground.

If you look carefully, you will find Treasure. However, don’t expect to find only the good stuff. You will find a lot of junk! Bottle tops, pull-tabs, nails and bullet casings will all give you a reading. Don’t be discouraged, don’t discriminate, dig every target and you will be rewarded for your efforts. Happy hunting!
