Description of the principles of search coils Mono for metal detectors.
Unlike DD, Mono have only one coil winding. As a result, output power , and a little less in depth they lose Double-D coils .
However, this does not name a disadvantage. Due to the design features of the beam generated by the coil has a conical form . This means that in Captures the signal with increasing depth has a smaller area to capture , but it does not disappear altogether.
This is one of the features due to which it is possible to achieve very good separation of small targets closely spaced to each other. In such situations, manifested advantage over the DD coils are simply blinded by the fact that in the area of detection of theirs at the same time gets a lot of objects . This is precisely the purpose of sniper coils for combing perspective of search locations .
Concentric coil of small diameter cone creates a signal that is similar to a narrow beam. Because experienced searchers have a range of several different coils for different purposes.

Description of the principles of the search coil-type Double-D (DD).
Double-D technology means that the coil has a double winding. This feature allows you to achieve a greater depth of penetration of the signal into the soil and increase the area of detection especially in comparison with the search coil Mono (read more about the Mono coils). The main advantage of such sensors is that with a large diameter of the coil can get the same grip at any depth due Capture signal. Metal thus more accurately responds to signals received thereby avoiding the appearance of a “ghost” signal. Regardless of the diameter and the principle of the search coil operating frequency is caused by the metal detector. So DD coil units for low-frequency significantly increase the depth. And in case of high frequency operation can be achieved on a level of sensitivity increase with depth.
