One artifact in the Indian Temple

“The Hindu” newspaper of India daily on Saturday 2 July that precious treasure is found in a Hindu temple in southern India.

The treasure was discovered containing a diamond jewelry, pearls and gold and silver coins and gems in the basement of the Temple of “Sri badmanabhaswami” in Kerala state of South India.

According to preliminary estimates, the value of the treasure in excess of 500 billion rupees (the equivalent of 11.2 billion u.s. dollars).

The inspections started in rooms of the temple which was closed since several times on 27 June, and precious artifacts was found in some rooms, while others are free.

Indian authorities also tightened security around the temple after the discovery of the precious treasure.

The temple dedicated to the God Vishnu by King travankor in the 16th century, and since then remained wealth stored in underground rooms.

Since the independence of India in 1947 the institution run by the descendants of the rulers of travankor supervises the temple, but the Indian Supreme Court ordered the State to manage the Temple from now on.
